Hello Dear Investors,I apologize for the long overdue delay. I've been waiting until there was more substantial news to update my investors on, but I think it is good to catch you up on our progress and your investment. In the future, I will update more regularly on this platform and by email. If ever you have any specific questions please don't hesitate to reach out directly to us.There is a lot of good news and progress to announce, but also a frustrating reality with the current state of the film industry and international sales in the midst of this global pandemic. First thing we have done to continue to try to promote new sales of the film is that we updated our movie poster and web banner and are in the process of updating all sites where our movie is being sold. You can see a preview of that new design on our facebook page (www.facebook.com/heroinmovie).Our film became available on DVD and Blu-Ray just before the holiday season of 2020 and has been selling through Allied Vaughn to all major box office stores in the USA online. At the beginning of 2021 we continued to make the film available everywhere on VOD (video on demand) and cable platforms. By Spring 2021 we expanded our offering to AVOD (ad supported video on demand). This expansion has been pretty successful in views and ad revenue on platforms like TUBI, PLUTO, and IMDb. We have seen the most growth in sales and potential sales in these new platforms with AVOD throughout the Summer and expect to have this continue to grow. We did some testing of the new movie poster vs. the old movie poster and it is very promising how well the new design is trending. We also continue to do very well at film festivals. You can see our release trailer below that highlights at the end all of the many film festivals where we have won top prizes! We are thankful for this recognition and expect more festivals that we submitted to over a year ago that is just now trying to reschedule their events and we hope to have more wins for our film. This would not be possible without your contribution and commitment to making opioid abuse awareness more prevalent through cinema. Usually a year after a film comes out domestically, international sales begin to take off. Unfortunately, most of the international sales market where most of the in person selling happens there have been no sales as of yet. Also, because of the pandemic shutting down our theatrical release we had planned we were unable to show a strong box office and had to take everything online and cable during our main release back in April of 2020. This was a difficult decision to make back at that chaotic time in the world, but talking to most industry experts they agreed that it was better to release the movie than let the film grow stale. As of now, we are still weighed down by more debts than any profits that have come in the last year or are currently coming in. This means that we do not yet have an ROI to return to any of our investors and still paying off production debts and release debts. We remain hopeful that this film will continue to have an impact and reach new audiences as we expand in new markets, with new artwork, more festival awards, and when international sales begin again. We certainly had hoped that by this time we would have better news about the situation of our film, but unfortunately the film industry was unique hit by the shutdowns and without theatrical release the whole ecosystem has been terribly thrown off. We reach out to streamers and other new platforms like AVOD to find alternative ways to find profits. Finally, although the financial situation of our film is not more encouraging, we continue to hear news from new viewers about the importance of our film right now. Even in the midst of the global pandemic, the opioid epidemic continues to rise and the USA had more overdoses last year and we are looking to set another grim record in our current year. There are new films and shows coming out about this topic, and we believe in the long run that being one of the first films to tackle the opioid epidemic head on will be profitably not only to the cause but to our investors as more audiences discover our film.Thank you again for your investment and support "Shooting Heroin" (2020). Please continue to share all of our live links at our website: www.HeroinFilm.com - we will strive to keep you updated. Sincerely,Spencer T Folmarwriter & director"Shooting Heroin" (2020)
