- Q: Serdar: Sounds interesting. I’m curious as to your claim that you are the only provider of pesticide free spinach. BrightFarms has been doing that for years, and in multiple markets for national retailers such as Ahold and Kroger. How is this different/better?
  - A: Hi Patrick, thank you for your interest! Currently there are plenty of companies in our space that offer not only pesticide-free but also organic certified spinach products. In fact, the organic fresh spinach market in the US is estimated to be over $200MM and growing rapidly. We're using a proprietary production process that helps us produce pesticide-free spinach with no plant-disease related interruptions at high-yields and low-cost. We believe that this puts us in a suitable position to win a high share of this existing market by delivering a superior quality product at a lower price-point to the end consumer once we're at scale. An important note to be made is that the opportunity is not limited to spinach or leafy greens but any crop that is susceptible to root-disease issues in hydroponic environments. - Q: Hello, you mention a couple of times "Despite our competitors’ financial capacity, we are still the only company able to offer a year-round, pesticide-free spinach product; we owe this advantage to our proprietary production model." But that is certainly not the case, so why claim it? And does that invalidate your 'proprietary production model' as well?
  - A: Hi Adriana, it is unfortunately difficult for us to make any claims regarding other companies in our space and their products. We only claim the merits of our capabilities which are fundamentally about growing crops at a high level of consistency by avoiding common plant disease problems without the use of pesticides. Spinach is a crop that is tricky to grow in indoor and outdoor environments and one which we believe proposes a good opportunity for us to prove the efficacy of our methods. There is plenty of competition in the indoor farming space with similar offerings available from well-capitalized incumbents. We believe that our ability to produce a distinct quality product with high consistency at low cost to the consumer will set us apart from the competition and help us stay competitive.
