The Brand

Chris Ebert began as a writer. An academic background in folklore and mythology and a professional background in New York City business and real estate made him one interesting cat.

To co-workers he was known as a pragmatic, logical, rationalist who handled problems with a sense of humor, an iron will, a heart, and always delivered.

But at night he was writing fantastic and wildly imaginative tales that would become the collection Ophelia and Other Weird Tales, and it's sequel, Hades Ascendant and Others. The stories were a world populated with the undead explorer Ethan Rhys-Davies, the kind hearted demon Asmodeus, Jesse Perfect, the most unlikely of alien hunters. A world where the Biblical God co-existed with the gods of ancient myth, and were watched over indescribable outer-beings such as the Spider Ophelia. The Shadowy Illuminati and the ONLA lead by Abraham Braxus clashed with a unique group of core characters. Chris broke literary precedent by creating a unique combination of short story and chapter format. He has been compared to Lovecraft, Dunsany, MR James, Stepehen King, J.R.R. Tolkein, Neil Gaiman, and Clive Barker.

But Chris's stories additionally had believable human characters. The Ophelia Mythos read like literature but made you feel like you had just watched a blockbuster movie. Unlike most other weird fiction, Chris's stories were infused with comedy and adventure. The plots while extremely appealing to audiences were never predictable. Never afraid of breaking the mold, Chris crossed new ground in the second book when he broke long standing literary tropes about religion and politics with the controversial ending to the second book, but in a thought-provoking way drawn from his background in history and folkore.

For his third book, Major Arcana, Chris formed Ophelia Myth Media and became a publisher. Partnered with logic editor Adam Nebel, Chris mapped a careful plan for the Mythos. In 2011, Chiara Fariello joined OMM and the expansion into other forms of media, other languages, and the search for sublabel talent began. Chiara's diverse background in film, photography, social media, art, and music, as well as having a dual artistic and professional background which she garnered on both sides of the Atlantic, made her the right choice to join Chris, who serves as CEO of OMM, while Chiara serves as President of the Board of Directors.

Chris and Chiara, along with the junior partners, now took their business world experience into crafting a five year growth cycle plan for Ophelia Myth Media Incorporated. Knowing the millions, and over a decades long life cycle even billions, of dollars that a fiction franchise like Batman, Harry Potter, Star Wars, and others could make, they set out to reach that level of success via a new means. A unique and protected method of combining social media analytics with human behavior studies (the same methods used by politicians to win elections) will promote the mythos while the funding raised from investors also creates in-house media in the form of audio books, comics, and eventually films, merchandise, television and other adaptations.

Unlike other intellectual properties of this kind, OMM would never spin off and over-license out the brand leaving it so watered down and diluted by the hundreds if not thousands of different companies and subcorporations had their hands in the pot that profits of the Mythos were shared by an enormous field of entities.

OMM instead would offer its investors one company in which to share the profits. With the SEC approval of crowd-funding, OMM offers small investors a piece of a media franchise in a form that has never existed before. This translates to the possibility of both exponential growth of an initial investment via the profit on the 10 percent of non-voting shares offered through wefunder, and also the longevity of decades and perhaps more that we have seen from twentieth century and twenty first century fiction franchises.

Investors will want to talk more with us, we know. Many will get their hands on the existing OMM products, which we suggest you do, as well as read our summaries here, and on amazon, Barnes and Noble, and other websites. Electronic copies of the media are available to potential investors, as well as further discussion of growth strategies with the founders.

Yes, this is for real. Imagine when you read how well an OMM film did at the box office, or the hear ratings of a web or TV series, and know that that means a personal boon to you. And one you can be proud of. One that entertains people and enriches culture, while putting money in your bank account.

OMM is thrilled to partner with wefunder to be on the early cusp of the crowdfunding revolution. Email [email protected] for more details or ask questions here through through the wefunder platform.
