Honey, a superfood, is packed with incredible health benefits, including probiotics, 22 amino acids, and essential vitamins and nutrients, all unique to honey. We take this golden nectar and craft a 100-calorie, low-sugar, 5% ABV beverage worthy of the gods.

LIXIR was born from a legacy of innovation and a passion for sustainability. Our founder, Collin McKenna, is the grandson of Sid and Jenny Craig, pioneers who revolutionized the health and wellness space by transforming how people approach nutrition and weight management. Inspired by their trailblazing work, Collin sought to create something equally impactful but focused on the planet’s well-being.
At the age of 16, Collin moved from Colorado to Hawaii to study environmental sciences. It was there that he discovered the benefits of regenerative agriculture, sparking a vision to build a business that could support sustainable farming practices while offering a product that aligns with today’s values.
After earning a business degree from the University of San Diego and gaining six years of experience in the beverage industry, Collin combined his family’s commitment to health and innovation with his passion for sustainability. He set out to create one of the first regenerative honey-based alcohol companies.
The idea for LIXIR began when Collin’s friends introduced him to mead—the oldest known alcoholic beverage. They shared stories about the health and environmental benefits of honey-based drinks, which inspired Collin to reimagine mead in a way that would appeal to modern consumers. Realizing there was a gap in the market, he partnered with a San Diego meadery to develop a low-sugar, low-calorie beverage that’s both delicious and sustainable.
After two years of rigorous testing and countless iterations, LIXIR launched in April 2024, combining a rich family legacy of wellness innovation with a forward-thinking approach to sustainability and craft beverages.
LIXIR sources honey from a rainforest bee preserve in Brazil, the second-largest rainforest after the Amazon. This region is crucial to the planet’s oxygen supply and biodiversity, and it relies on the health of bees.
Each can sold contributes directly to the farmers maintaining these bee farms, helping them grow their operations, support their families, and preserve their vital work for the environment.
