The Agora Social Club Story

Seven years ago, a friend who was struggling suggested to Vincent Brusco that he should start a men's group. Vincent took that seriously. He started forming groups wherever men would gather, rotating through coffee shops, jiu-jitsu academies, and apartment common rooms. When the pandemic hit, he moved the gatherings to Zoom. There was no business plan behind any of it and no real expectation of what would come next.

What started happening surprised him. Men who hadn't spoken honestly about their lives in years began to do so. They found something in the room that felt safe enough to open up with each other. When they came back the following week, they brought others. Whatever they had found in these gatherings was hard to find anywhere else in their lives.

Vincent realized that most men weren't unwilling to build connections. A gym is designed to build the body, an office to extract output, and a bar to offer a different kind of release. But none of them were ever built for the kind of conversation and connection that shifts something in a man over time.

That is what Agora is built for. Seven years of men showing up for it, before any business existed or a dollar was raised, made clear that the need was real.

The Problem

According to the Survey Center on American Life, the share of men with at least six close friends fell by half between 1990 and 2021, and the share reporting no close friends at all rose from 3% to 15%.

In 2023, the U.S. Surgeon General declared loneliness a public health epidemic, describing it as a serious risk to both individual and societal well-being.

The environments where men naturally build trust have largely disappeared from daily life. A gym is built for training. An office is built for output. A bar is built for unwinding. None of them was designed to build a real circle.


Our Solution

Agora Social Club is built around mental fitness, the daily work of staying sharp, grounded, and genuinely connected.. Agora addresses the male loneliness gap by creating a space that is made permanent, made premium, and built specifically around how men genuinely build trust through shared effort, repeated presence, and honest conversation.

The physical club brings together a full fitness facility, recovery space, co-working, a barber, and structured community programming under one $299 monthly membership. Every element in Agora gives a man a reason to show up regularly. Regular presence in the same space with the same people is how real circles get built. The programming layer adds guided conversations, masterclasses, and events that make the community intentional rather than accidental.

Beyond the physical location, Agora extends its reach through a podcast network produced in partnership with the studio behind The Joe Rogan Experience, Soundshed Studios. That media layer carries the mental fitness conversation well beyond Westchester, reaching men who are not yet members and building the audience that makes each new location easier to fill.

Why Now?

Men who are already investing in their physical health, paying for premium gym memberships, buying supplements, and hiring coaches are the same men with shrinking social circles and no dedicated space for the rest of it.

Equinox built a business generating over $1 billion in annual revenue on physical fitness alone, with revenues growing 27% in 2023. That’s one category, with no community layer, no mental fitness programming, and no brotherhood built into the model. Agora is launching in Westchester County, New York, because the demographics are an excellent fit. It’s one of the most affluent counties in the country, with a median household income of $118,976 and 53.1% of adults holding a bachelor's degree or higher. That is a concentration of approximately 11,000 men professional men who already spend on premium fitness and personal development.

Our Business Model

Agora is built around three revenue layers that reinforce each other. The membership is the foundation, the media layer builds the audience, and the franchise model is how the first location becomes a national business.

  1. Monthly Membership ($299/month): Members get access to the full club: fitness, recovery, co-working, the barber, community programming, and events. A gym membership is easy to cancel when life gets busy. A membership to a place where your circle lives is a different calculation entirely.
  2. Podcast Network and Media: Produced in partnership with The Soundshed Studios, the podcast network extends the Agora brand well beyond Westchester, reaching the target audience in future markets before a physical location exists there.
  3. Franchise Expansion: Planned to begin in year two, each franchise location replicates the membership structure, programming, and brand standards. Revenue comes from initial fees, ongoing royalties, and shared partnership income.
